Commonwealth v. Carter, 52 N.E.3d 1054 (Mass. 2016)

In Massachusetts, “Involuntary manslaughter” is an unlawful killing unintentionally caused by wanton and reckless conduct. Wanton or reckless conduct is conduct that creates a high degree of likelihood that substantial harm will result to another. Words alone can be the basis for wanton or reckless conduct.
